Mournful Congregation were formed in 1993 with their first recording being recorded and released in 1994. From this demo onwards they established themselves as an uncompromising and dedicated "Extreme Doom Metal" band in the underground scene.
Through their 15 years of history, they have never betrayed this path, only growing and expanding upon this foundation. Thanks to their uncompromising and serious musical nature, they have earned a revered and respected spot in the world wide Funeral Doom Metal, and in fact the whole Death Metal scene.
Now, for the first time in 15 long years, they are preparing to perform a series of live shows both in Australia and Europe in 2009. This will help promote their new upcoming full length album to be released 2009.
