In 2003 Nocturnal Blasphemy was born, with the intentions to create raw and dirty Black Metal. As the time went on, the most various influences that were obtained by their members, were reflected in the search of a sound and style of its own. That entailed to a new image as a band, restructuring old songs, re-conceptualizing the lyrics and takinging some sounds from other styles that complemented this new vision and thus taking Perpetuum to the band it is today .

From 2004 to 2006, the band played in Santiago de Chile many times and some other towns with very good receptions from the crowds. At the end of 2006 Perpetuum began to pre-produce the first record, releasing their promo in 2007. In 2009 the band signed a deal with Australis Records, to release their first full-length.
Shortly after Perpetuum entered the studio to record “Gradual Decay of Consience”.

The LP concept was developed under a macro idea of human behavior. The human being is brutal, violent, aggressive, purchaser, competitive and has created a society under that structure, causing chaotic, regressive and destructive situations, and there isn’t a true reasoning about the fact that our personal integrity is related to earth, life and others’ integrity.

We live in a society that produces shortage and, as a consequence, typical characteristics of the masses appear, such as human beings acting in a self-defensive , reflecting mental disturbs such as paranoia; and obsessive fights with each other because of our individualism which take us to schizophrenical states.

Social matters appear, characterizing decadent attitudes as metaphorically detailed in "Into The Deepest Darkness" which shows the massive managements from world leaders, reflecting the weakness of the conscience. In "Unmerciful Despair" & "Through the path of Eternity", inner struggles are described from personal experiences to an unmerciful mental chaos.

Right now the band is playing live, promoting their CD, and have had the chance to play with very important Chilean Bands, like Mar de Grises, Pentagram and Undercroft.
